When innovation and solidarity meet: an online ordering module online ordering module for committed catering
Since its creation in 2016 by Vanessa Krycève,the association le RECHO has gone from its first "on the move" initiatives, i.e. trips to refugee camps to create encounters and live together, to the establishment of a real base camp in the heart of an atypical location in the 16th arrondissement: les Cinq Toitsa committed third place installed in the place of a former police barracks(you know Les Grands Voisins? It's the same principle!).
Since then, the solidarity restaurant La Table du RECHO which trains refugees in the restaurant business "from the seed to the plate" and from the kitchen to the dining room. In a word: inclusion through cooking. On the plate of course, but also through workshops, dinners and activities.
So of course, we come to exchange, to support a sustainable and committed project... but also and above all to enjoy ourselves! Seasonal menu, carefully selected producers, craft beers from Ile-de-France or natural wines from the Cave d'Ivry short circuits (80% of the products have travelled a maximum of 150 km), 90% organic references.
RECHO is not alone in its location in the heart of the Cinq Toits, since it is surrounded by other associations, a florist, a bicycle repair shop...
But here's the thing...
You don't need to know: the Covid-19 crisis has (violently) passed by.
In order to maintain an activity, to allow the social link and to continue to work positively, the Table du RECHO had to think of a new model of restoration.
And what better way to do this than to dust off the old foodtruck from the association's early operations, park it in the courtyard and set up an online ordering system to boost the takeaway offer?
Innovorder, seduced by RECHO's solidarity and commitment project, has decided to support this approach by installing its online ordering module.
Within the first few weeks, the results were impressive, and although the market for telecommuting delivery is limited in the area (and even prohibited by some companies), the take-out business has found its audience.
"People come to meet us, to talk with us... many have come on foot, by bike, with their families. It also allows them to get to know the place, to see the families who are there and who welcome them in the courtyard - many didn't know us yet! Les Cinq Toits was closed like many third places, but having a restaurant has allowed us to reopen the doors timidly. One client who came through the restaurant took the opportunity to have his bike repaired during lunch, which helped other associations to get going!"
Communicating on this new offer and way of consuming also allowed to reinforce the links with the shopkeepers of the district, via a campaign of distribution of flyers and meetings in person.
Digital can really be at the service of the link and the social fabric. In the case of the Table du RECHO, it has helped to revive this place. With a future perspective in mind: to keep the takeaway alive after the crisis.
We are very happy to have contributed to the gourmet and committed project of the Table du RECHO.
By the way... don't forget to stop by and taste their cuisine and say hello if you're nearby!
